The Daniel Fast is typically a 21 day fast originating in the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. This fast can be extreme as eating only fruits and vegetables, or as lenient as eating fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds and protein only. The route you choose to take are both really fabulous options.
I have personally done both options of this fast, though going 21 days of the extreme route only eating fruits and vegetables only lasted a week, hahaha oops.
This fast is specifically used to gain favor and intimacy with God, as you are choosing to let your hunger be the the Lord only. As I did this fast, I did gain intimacy with God because I talked to him more than ever before. I had a reason to constantly rely on him and to remind Jesus that I only rely on him for energy and satisfaction. After this fast I realized I have often lived to eat, not eat to live.
My favorite thing about the Daniel fast: no matter how long you keep it up, it is the BEST way to detox your body in a very healthy way. You are able to feed your body substantial amounts of nutrients, but also detox all of the toxins and unhealthy body fats out!
